Our manuscript Predictive Analytics in Information Systems Research has been accepted to MIS Quarterly. In the manuscript we discuss the differences between empirical modeling for causal explanation and for prediction, and the role of predictive analytics in theory building and testing in the field of information systems.

This manuscript has evolved throughout the revision process, and has changed titles from "Explanatory vs. Predictive Modeling in IS Research" to "The Challenge of Prediction in IS Research" to its final title.
